Osun Decides: Adeleke Wins Keenly Contested Governorship Election
Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has emerged winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The result was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Sunday morning.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 17,180 votes.
With the victory, Adeleke has secured a second term mandate from the Osun electorate.
Aiyekooto Reporters gathered that 15 political parties contested the election, with the Accord Party, APC and ADC emerging as the top three contenders.
