The one that broke the carmels back is now setting the google bar ablaze as The Nigeria Police Force in a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer CSP Muyiwa Adejobi has revealed the identity of the two suspected international drug barons in a case involving suspended super cop, DCP Abba Kyari and the Operatives of IGP /IRT The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, through its spokesman, Femi Babafemi, had declared suspended Abba Kyari wanted on Monday being the 14th of February,2022 over links to an international drug cartel. Though the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has been silence about the Agency officers the cartel had been interacting with neither did they mention their names as DCP Abba Kyari not turning up makes prominence in the press release by it’s Spokesman, Femi Babafemi.“Today, we are forced to declare one of such law enforcement agents wanted in the person of suspended DCP Abba Kyari, the erstwhile Commander of Intelligence Response Team (IRT) at the Force Intelligence Bureau of the Nigerian Police Force” Babafemi has said in his Press release.“With the intelligence at our disposal, the Agency believes strongly that “DCP Kyari is a member of a drug cartel that operates the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit drug pipeline, and he needs to answer questions that crop up in an ongoing drug case in which he is the principal actor.’ His failure to cooperate forced the hand of the Agency and that is the reason for this press briefing,” the NDLEA spokesman said. Babafemi in his Press release has concluded before interrogating Kyari himself as a surprise member of the drug cartel. It is therefore prejudice to draw such a conclusion. In another twist shortly after the declaration, the Police announced that they had arrested Kyari and four other officers for their involvement in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy, discreditable, unethical, and unprofessional conduct, official corruption and tampering with exhibits in a case of illicit drug trafficking involving a perpetual transnational drug cartel.The Police Spokesman CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi then gave the names of suspected members of the drug cartel as Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus, both males, arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport. “The interim investigations report revealed that two (2) international drug couriers identified as Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus, both males, were arrested at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu on the 19th of January, 2022 upon their arrival from Addis Ababa aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight ET917. The arrest led to the recovery of substantial quantity of powdery substance suspected to be cocaine from the two narcotic couriers. The operation which was intelligence-driven, was undertaken by a Unit of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT).” the Police Spokesman gave verbatim analysis of the report during the press briefing. That’s higly.professional.The Police said their investigation also established that the international narcotics cartel have strong ties with some officers of the NDLEA at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, who are on their pay roll. The Police said this based on their intelligence findings. This is certainly an area the NDLEA failed to established. If the police brief must be taken seriously it must be admitted that Babafemi goofed in his briefing and poorly managed the circumstance. Police investigations based on the statement released from the office of the Force PPRO shows that they are culpable and will certainly face the music, hence the handover of their men..! It should also be noted that NDLEA failure to arrest the drugs traffickers who.had unhinder access at the Airport but aprehended by the IRT operatives got.the NDLEA boys napping, it wouldn’t be hard to assume that there is another plot which got DCP Abba Kyari on the net. What a plot in a plot! The seemingly rivalry of the security agencies was taken too far hence it.becomes a public knowledge. Both the cartel and the security operatives didn’t act to upheld the interest of the country but selfish exhibition, power play unhealthy rivalry was conspicuous in the handling of the matter and Nigeria watch if the NDLEA will bring theirs to book. The head of the NDLEA Brig- Gen Buba Marwa (rtd) must imitate the Inspector General of Police Usman Baba Alkali or else the last has not being held in this matter. As the Abba Kyari nightmare unfold.
