Stop Begging to Be Understood
Stop begging to be understood by people who are committed to misunderstanding you
Some people have already cast you as the villain in a story they refuse to question. No amount of explaining will change their minds, because they are not searching for the truth — they are searching for evidence to justify their judgment.
You can tell the truth and still be accused of lying. You can have a good heart and still be portrayed as a bad person. You can do everything right and still be misunderstood by those who are determined to see you as wrong.
That is why you must learn to stop defending your character in every courtroom people create in their minds.
You do not have to attend every argument you are invited to. You do not have to answer every accusation thrown at you. And you do not have to destroy your peace trying to convince people who have no intention of believing you.
Sometimes the strongest response is not another explanation. It is silence, distance, and the courage to let people be wrong about you.
Let your character speak. Let your actions tell your story. Let time reveal what arguments cannot.
You know your truth, and God knows your heart. You are not here to win everyone’s approval or correct every false opinion about you.
Stop exhausting yourself trying to control the narrative. Protect your peace, stand firm in your truth, and let God handle what your words cannot.
Not everyone deserves an explanation. Not every accusation deserves a response. And not every battle deserves your presence.
Your peace is too precious to keep sacrificing it on the altar of being understood by those who have already decided not to understand you.
