The founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Mr. Subomi Balogun is dead.
According to reports, the banker died in London hospital in the United Kingdom this Friday morning.
Balogun, who was Otunba Tunwase of Ijebuland, was aged 89.
Otunba Balogun celebrated his 89th birthday in March.
He started FCMB, a midlevel financial institution in Nigeria, over three decades ago.
As a high-ranking and prominent Ijebu Chief in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, his death has not been officially announced as traditional rites demand.
However, the family had informed the Awujale of Ijebuland of his death and a formal announcement would be made soon in line with Ijebu tradition.
That brings a reminder that Ogun State have lost two prominent sons in less than two months. Lt. General Oladipupo Diya and Otunba Subomi Balogun. May their souls rest in peace.
