COMMUNITY POLICING: CP IBRAHIM ADAMU BAKORI PAYS HOMAGE TO EMIR OF KARAYE, ATTENDS NYSC SWEARING-IN CEREMONY
In compliance with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, directive on sustained strategic community policing engagements, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, SFIPMA, MNIM, MNIPS, MASIS, today, Friday, 7th August, 2026, paid a royal homage to His Highness, Alhaji Dr. Muhammad Maharaz, the Emir of Karaye (Kyauran Yammawa), at his palace in Karaye.
Speaking during the visit, CP Bakori expressed profound appreciation to the Emir for his continuous support, fatherly counsel and invaluable contributions to the security architecture of the state. He noted that the Emir’s role in strengthening synergy between the Police and the people of Karaye and its environs has significantly contributed to the prevailing peace in the Emirate.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated that traditional rulers remain critical drivers and custodians of community policing at the grassroots. He therefore solicited sustained support, cooperation and prayers from the traditional institution to enable the Police to effectively deliver on its mandate of protecting lives and property.
In his response, His Highness, Alhaji Dr. Muhammad Maharaz, commended the Commissioner of Police for the courtesy visit and lauded his tireless efforts, commitment and proactive leadership in ensuring the safety and security of Kano State. He acknowledged that policing is a demanding task and affirmed that the Police are doing a commendable job in the State. The Emir pledged the Emirate Council’s total support and cooperation to the Command in its fight against crime and criminality.
In a related development, as part of his official engagements in Karaye Local Government Area, the Commissioner of Police attended the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Kusalla Dam, Karaye.
The Kano State Police Command reaffirms its commitment to deepening community policing, strengthening collaboration with traditional institutions and other critical stakeholders, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all residents and visitors in the state.
