ARREST OF SUSPECTED NOTORIOUS CULTISTS. CP ORDER MORE COVERT OPERATION IN SAGAMU

The combined team, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, the Anti-Cultism Unit (AKU), and the Obalende Division of the Ogun State Police Command adhering to the order and directives of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha to rid the state of the menace of cultism and other criminal activities in the State has led to the arrest of a notorious cultist in Sagamu (named Ogunnibi Hammed) and his gang who has been terrorizing certain part of the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Command Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola and sighted by Aiyekooto Reporters. “On the 24th of September 2023, a successful tactical operation carried out by the Ogun State Police Command led to the arrest of Ogunnibi Hammed, the kingpin of the Eiye Confraternity. This notorious cultist has been widely known for his involvement in gruesome attacks against rival cult groups in Ogun State”. SP Odutola has said.

Odutola said further that, the notorious cultist and his cohort has been terrorizing various areas in the State including Odogbolu, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, and Ilishan. The combined team of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, the Anti-Cultism Unit (AKU), and the Obalende Division acting on intelligence report nip the nefarious activities of the notorious cultists and immobilized them , this signal a sign of reliefs to the environs.

Among those arrested are undergoing stringent investigation and interrogation they have made volunteering confessional statement of being members of cult groups, they are ; Sodipo Azeez, also known as Bintobo, Ilori Gbenga, Lamina Yusuf, Kolawole Rasaq, Adelaja Otusanya, Adeyemi Soneye, Oseni Toheeb, Thank God Naba, Lekan Qudus, Adelusi Omotayo, Timothy Monday AYOMIDE Ishmael, Oboje Jeremiah, Ayoola Oladayo, Jacob Chidi, John Innocent, Ayangbile Victor, and Jacob Sunday.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha has given kudos to the personnel involved in the tracking down the notorious cultist suspects , he vowed that they will have a date in court. He also urged the law abiding citizens of the state to report any suspicious and strange movement in their environment. The issue of security is everyone concern. SP Omolola Odutola has said in the released document.
