16-year-old Daniella tops 2026 UTME with 372
Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin from Ekiti State is the highest scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), posting an impressive 372 out of 400.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the top performers on Monday at the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Abuja. JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede presented the list.
Daniella, 16, took the exam in Ogun State and is applying to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Her UTME breakdown:
- English Language: 98 • Chemistry: 98 • Physics: 94 • Biology: 82 • Total: 372
This was Daniella’s second UTME attempt. Aiyekooto Reporters confirmed, she finished secondary school in 2025 and sat for the 2025 UTME but couldn’t gain admission due to glitches at her exam centre that affected her result. She didn’t request a resit.
“Since 2026 UTME isn’t my first attempt, I would say my preparation for 2026 UTME started when I was preparing for my 2025 UTME. I also want to appreciate EFVP Wisdom Spring Model School for their input in my success story,” she said.
“I was aiming for nothing less than 350, so I fixed my goal at 370+. I chose UNILAG because it is one of the best universities that offers my desired course, and I chose Medicine and Surgery because of my unwavering interest and passion to provide medical support for the sick, relieve pain and help people live a healthy life.”
