DSP. Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, Asaba revealed that the Command has made significant progress in the fight against crime and criminality with recent arrests and recoveries to journalists in a press released monitored by Aiyekooto Reporters.

The DPO of the Sapele division, CSP Harrison Nwabuisi, received a distress call regarding an armed robbery incident on the 25th June,2023. The victim reported being attacked by an armed robber who stole his gold chain worth ₦700,000. Swift action was taken, and the patrol team apprehended the suspect, Lucky Sunday, along with a cut-to-size double-barrel locally-made pistol, three live cartridges, a torchlight phone, and the stolen gold chain was recovered investigation is ongoing in this case.
In a separate incident on the same day, police operatives on patrol in Sapele and its environs encountered suspected cultists chanting ‘ARO MATE.’ The suspects fled upon seeing the police, abandoning the hostage they intended to harm. The victim was rescued unharmed, and a pump action gun was recovered.
On June 26th, 2023, the DPO of the Agbor division, CSP Idris Haruna, responded to a distress call about an ongoing armed robbery operation at Uromi Junction in Agbor. The police swiftly arrived at the scene, causing the hoodlums to flee and abandon a locally fabricated cut-to-size gun and an expanded cartridge. Two victims from the Agbor community, aged 41 and 36, were rescued unharmed. The victims stated they were attacked while travelling from Agbor-Obia towards Uromi Junction Agbor. The recovered exhibits are in police custody, and investigations are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
