POLICE-LED SECURITY FORCE DISLODGE A CRIMINAL CAMP IN OGBUNKA: NOTES THAT THE JOINT SECURITY FORCE SHALL CONTINUE TO DENY UNREPENTANT CRIMINALS THE SPACE TO COMMIT HAVOC IN THE STATE
The Anambra State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has successfully dismantled a criminal camp at Ogbunka.
A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga has confirmed.
According to the Police Spokesperson for the state, SP Ikenga, the operational breakdown to achieve the milestone was critically done to neutralize and dismantle their base.
Here’s a breakdown of the operation:
- Security Agencies Involved: The joint team consisted of the Police, Army (302 Artillery Regiment), Navy (Naval Command), Department of State Security, and Anambra State Vigilante.
- Operation Details: Acting on received intelligence, the team engaged in a six-hour gun battle with armed criminals, utilizing superior firepower to diffuse explosives used as shields.
- Recovered Items: Relief materials, including pots and foodstuffs, as well as parts of suspected stolen vehicles, were recovered from the camp.
- Casualties and Arrests: Some criminals escaped with bullet injuries, and the operatives are working to arrest the fleeing suspects.
The Anambra State Police Command has assured residents that their safety and security are a top priority, and the confidence placed in them will not be taken for granted.
