Securing The Nation: Water Tight Security Measures To The Rescue

EXTORTION/CHECKPOINTS ALONG SEME BORDER CORRIDOR: SECURITY STAKEHOLDERS APPROVE FOUR (4) CHECKPOINTS

In what seems to be the security measures to curb border proliferation of check-points and restore sanity along the Seme Boarder Corridor for economic growth along that route.

The Nigerian Army, Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the Nigeria Police Force emerge from a joint security meeting to find a lasting solution to the menace.

According to the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, CSP. Ayuba T. Umma , it was unanimously agreed that a joint security Task Force be created by the aforementioned security forces to address the challenges identified . The traditional four (4) checkpoints namely: (I) Seme Point, (II) Gbaji Point, (III) Apa Point and (IV) Agbara Point are the vocal point of discussion and approved by the security agencies to exit the extortion checkpoints along the seme boarder corridors.

According to CSP Ayuba, the target is that, these points will be mounted by all security agencies to ensure watertight security along the border ways to foster synergy in fighting crime and give room for economic growth along the axis.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Lagos and Ogun State Police Command, Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha mni, Psc who initiated the creation of the Joint Security Boarder Task Force stakeholders meeting is confident that it will not only restore sanity but boost economy advantage to the country if the exits point are properly secure to put pressure on saboteurs and check mate boarder excesses with the rejig synergy of the consortium security agencies put in place, CSP Ayuba Umma has said in the reports.
