Anambra Police Activates Security Architecture Over Yuletide Gridlock On First and Second Niger Bridge

ANTICIPATED YULETIDE GRIDLOCK AT FIRST AND SECOND NIGER BRIDGE: ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND ACTIVATES JOINT OPERATION WITH THE FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY CORPS AND DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND FOR FREE-OF-TRAFFIC AND OTHER ANTI-CRIME PATROL OPERATIONS

The Member months connote different things to different people. It is perceived as a year running out and the festive period is mostly notable for different activities. The Member months are seen as a time of business accountability and submission. However, the busy months are a signature for security personnel to up the significance of protecting lives and properties. It’s imperative that the Anambra State Police Command while revealing its security architecture has to maintain her sacred obligations to the people.

“In a proactive strategy to address traffic congestions in the State, especially at the First and Second Niger Bridge during and after this yuletide period, the Anambra State Police Command has commenced joint operations with the Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Delta State Police Command”.

While addressing Journalists at Akwa the State capital,The Spokesperson for the Police, SP Tochukwu Ikenga has said the proactive move was embedded in the Operational Plan of the Commissioner Of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam after a security assessment in the State with the Management of the Police Command to ensure that every sundry issue is addressed and properly guided before, during and after the yuletide period.

Speaking further, The CP visited the two bridges with the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State. The CP also alerted the Delta State Commissioner of Police on the need for cooperation and intensification of surveillance patrols to nip in the bud all criminal tendencies/ activities on the road and to ensure free-flow of traffic in the area during and after the festive season.

The CP further affirmed that the Anambra State Police Command shall continue to explore strategies to ensure the safety of the travelling public and remains committed to consolidating on the gains already recorded in crime prevention, restoration of Law and Order and improving on the safety and security of lives in the State. SP Tochukwu Ikenga has said in the reports.
