Police Smash Death Threat Syndicates, Arrest Suspects In Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two notorious syndicates terrorizing the Ozubulu and Umunze communities. Both suspects is said to be extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public via deadly threats.

At Umunze, Orumba South LGA headquarters two suspects were nabbed and are under painstaking investigation. It is recall that Umunze communities has been on the news lately that it is a no go area and headquarters for ESN. The swift reaction of the State Command put off the negative scenario painted on the social media handles.

The Police Public Relation Officer of the state, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said , “the suspects had sent text messages to their victim identifying themselves as members of ESN and demanding that he paid them a huge sum or else he and his daughter would be kidnapped and killed”.

According to DSP Ikenga , both have been apprehended and are cooling their feet in detention and would be arraigned in court soon.

In a similar development, the Ozubulu Police division at Ekwusigo LGA arrested a male suspect whose mode of operation is taking telecommunication advantage by the use of dual Sims. He therefore issue deadly threat to a businessman, impersonate most wanted ESN commander and intimate his victims to activate payment or get killed.

Speaking further DSP Ikenga said, “meticulous investigation employing technology and human assets led detectives to his hideout where he was arrested and both sims recovered. He was taken into custody and is to be arraigned in court”.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye has commended the police officers involved in the operation and subsequent arrest of the suspect. He assured that Command Headquarters will continue to motivate its personnel across the State for optimum performance the statement read.
