Ogun State Police Arrest Seven Suspected Cultists, Recover Arms And Restore Peace

The Ogun State Police Command, CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha has warned indigene of the State against criminal activities, he emphasized that the excesses of cult related cases will no longer be tolerated in the State. He gives the order and directives to men and personnel’s of the Command to ensure the state is free from overstretched breaches of criminal activities, speaking on the backdrop of the death of certain individuals in Sagamu area of the State and subsequent arrest of suspected seven cultists, the CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha frown at the nefarious activities of the criminals.

On the strength of the above, the Operative of Sagamu Area Command, led by ACP Shehu Alao raided criminal hideouts in collaboration with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), this is base on intelligence report that two rival cult groups, Aiye and Eiye confraternity clashed and resulted to the death of four persons at Ewu Iya Sunday in SAKURA.

“Upon receiving the information, the Area Commander, ACP Shehu Alao swiftly mobilized more personnel to the scene in order to prevent the clash from escalating and to apprehend the cultists involved. As a result, seven suspected cultists were arrested, and further investigations led to the recovery of a firearm, three live cartridges, and a criminal charm. The individuals apprehended were Asaiye Omolaja, Azeez Nofiu, Mathew Adewale, and Bolaji Ogunkemaya. It is worth noting that Bolaji Ogunkemaya was found with the four deceased persons in the same room where the killings occurred. One individual, Wasiu, managed to escape before the authorities arrived”, the state Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola has said in the document sighted by our correspondent.

Speaking further, the PPRO SP Odutola said, “during the raid, Bolaji Ogunkemaya provided critical information, stating that their leader, known as Azubuike aka BETTER, had been arrested by the Area Commander a fortnight ago. This information underscores the commitment of the police to dismantle these criminal networks” .

The Commissioner of Police, CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha has declared a zero-tolerance policy towards senseless killings and vows that none of these cultists will go unpunished , the statement released read in part.
