The Delta State Police Command have continue to neutralize criminal activities in the State in adherence to the order and directives of the State Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass Psc to the various police formation in the State. He ensure that they are place on high alert, place surveillance and anchor on strict intelligence gathering with people oriented friendly relationship to combat crime. This strategy is the consequence of recent breakthrough recorded in the State.

The A Warri division led by the Divisional Head CSP T.Y Mahmud, acting on intelligence report on the 23rd June 2023 at about 0645hrs stormed the hideout of a criminal gang located along stadium road Warri, arrested a male 58yr old suspect and an AK 47 rifle, three Magazines was recovered.

The suspect confessed to be the armourer of a dreaded “Bobone” criminal gang terrorizing Warri and environs . The Police upon thorough investigation from the apprehended suspect stormed the hideout of the dangerous gang along Chevron road on sighting the Police they engage the police, while the suspect made attempt to escape but maimed by the team to thwart his escape.

The other members of the gang escaped with various degrees of injuries while the suspect was rushed to hospital , he gave up the ghost while receiving treatment. The police are still on trail of the other members of the gang.

The state Command Spokesman, DSP Edafe Bright has said in a statement released and sighted by Aiyekooto Reporters where he confirmed the aforementioned, the Delta State Police Command will not entertain any nefarious activities or condone criminals in the State.

He reaffirmed that the CP Wale Abass Psc has assured citizens of the State that all criminals will be rooted in their hideouts and will continue to work on strategy to ensure the safety of the residents.
