Lawmakers Impeach Ahmed Muhammed, 3 OthersKogi State House of Assembly has impeached the House Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ahmed Muhammed.This was announced during an Emergency sitting held at the State Assembly complex in Lokoja on Friday.The lawmaker representing Akpa1 constituency of the state was accused alongside 3 other principal officers of gross misconduct and arbitrary use of office, Politics Nigeria reports.Hon. Enema Paul, the member representing (Dekina/Okura) State Constituency, who read the urgent motion that led to the impeachment, asserted that 17 lawmakers have signed the impeachment of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed and the suspension of three other principal officers in the house.Osinbajo Seeks Collaboration With USVice-President Yemi Osinbajo said there is a need for concerted efforts to effectively tackle the spread of terrorism, especially in the Sahel region.Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, stated in Abuja on Friday that the vice-president made the assertion when he received the visiting Under Secretary for Political Affairs, U.S. State Department, Victoria Nuland, and a U.S. delegation.The vice-president stressed the need for more collaboration between Nigeria and the U.S.A in combating terrorism generally.UK Closes Nigerian-Owned Church Over Financial MismanagementA United Kingdom High Court has ordered the closure of Salvation Proclaimer Ministries Limited, a church led by Nigeria-born Tobi Adegboyega, over alleged financial mismanagement and lack of transparency in its operations.In a statement published to the UK government website on Friday, the church, popularly known as SPAC Nation, was said to have been closed “in the public interest.”The church, according to the statement, was wound up “after failing to properly account for more than £1.87 million of outgoings and operating with a lack of transparency” in the High Court on June 9, 2022 before Judge Burton.Oyo Govt Promotes 7,460 TeachersThe Oyo State Government, on Friday, presented letters of promotion to 9, 227 primary school teachers in grade level 13-15 in the state.This was revealed by the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran during the symbolic presentation of 2017-2020 letters to 7, 460 teachers.He said the pending promotion letters are in fulfilment of Governor Seyi Makinde’s promises to teachers in the state.Wife Of APC Chieftain Abducted In Minna Found In Maiduguri Motor ParkHabiba Baffa, the abducted wife of Usman Baffa, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Magama Local Government chapter in Niger who was abducted in Minna on Sunday was rescued after she was found at the popuular Kano Motor Park in Borno State.Speaking while handing over Mrs Baffa to her family in Maiduguri on Thursday, Borno Police commissioner, Mr Abdu Umar, said the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Maiduguri had at about 2 pm on Wednesday reported that a woman named Habiba Baffa, was found in Kano motor park.
