Regarding the Ibom Air incident involving passenger Comfort Emmanson and highlighting concerns about double standards in Nigeria’s justice system .

It should be noted that a cursory look into the incidence is inadvertently important.

• Condemnation of Double Standards: The need to criticizes the handling of Comfort Emmanson’s case compared to another incident involving musician Kwam 1 (Wasiu Ayinde), who prevented a ValueJet aircraft from taking off.
• Dehumanizing Treatment:
  It is imperative to strongly condemns the public stripping of Emmanson by security officials as “dehumanizing” and “unnecessary”.
• Call for Fair Justice:
  The only way out is to emphasizes that justice in Nigeria should not be based on an individual’s influence or access to government officials. The Minister of Aviation have an explanation to the double standards in adjudication as alleged in certain quarters.

Context of the Incidents

• Comfort Emmanson was arrested and remanded for assaulting Ibom Air crew.
• Kwam 1 was involved in an incident preventing a ValueJet flight from taking off but hasn’t been arrested or arraigned despite putting hundreds of lives at risk.

The twist of both incidents took almost similar dimensions. The Nigerians involved showcase the ugly situation in the society . It is a devastating reflection of how terrible Nigerians can be.

The duo involved are no doubt threat to humanity irrespective of the sides one belong. Kwan 1 Ayinde Marshall pouring a suspected substance called Alcohol which he claimed to have performed the miracle of turning alcohol into dehydrated water in the flask!

Progressing to stop a flying Air Bus almost putting over one hundred passengers lives in danger including himself can only be exhibited by a terrorist or a suicide bomber!

On the other hand, Comfort Emmanson is a reflection of the unstable mental State of most Nigerians, she did not only assaulted the Air Hostess but attempted murder if she was not rescue , a fire extinguisher she (Comfort Emmanson) almost used to hit her on the head. That reflection is the dangerous twist that would have caused an instant death!

The system failed, instant judgement depicts the decay of our judicial system, on what basis was the police investigation on both Wasiu Ayinde or Comfort Emmanson..? Were the parties involved interrogated and proper investigation conducted?

We should agreed that the biased system give no fair hearing but hurriedly done on the sway of public sentiment and outcry.

Medical examination to assess Ayinde Marshall who almost committed suicide on a runaway at the airport or the lady who almost committed murder in the aircrafts were definitely no recorded statements from competent hospitals that certify both of being medically fit before embarking on the journey!

We are all guilty like Wasiu Ayinde Marshall and Comfort Emmanson if we fail to know the root causes of the incident, if we fail to interrogate all parties involved, if we fail to question the authority that automatically gives clearance to Pilot Oluranti to fly!

Also on whose authority did Comfort Emmanson subjected to such inhuman treatment? Why did the Police went to bed regarding the progenitor of Do you know who I am? not near a Police Station much more a Court in the land!

Why the accelerated shabby justice done to Comfort Emmanson? Why was she terribly assaulted by the Airline security staff too, like she did to the Air hostess who stood on the way out of the aircrafts, knowing fully well the water tight security wouldn’t allow her escapees . An averted error!

The young hostess deserves commendation despite in the face of unruly behavior and assault by Comfort Emmanson she remain very professional not to retaliate the several slaps.

However, we are all guilty as the system and the Hostess is the victim of it all , who stand as the Nigeria hero despite the continuous assaults , provocation and pisses. She’s the exceptional Nigeria patriot.

If we failed to do the needful, the rest of us are guilty as charged and more of the incidents remain inescapable…!
