AIG FCID Annex Holds Maiden Strategic Lecture with Detectives and Decorates Newly Promoted Officers
The Assistant Inspector General of the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos, AIG Ogbodo Augustina, PSC, has told the newly promoted police officers to shun corrupt practices while contributing positively to the growth and development of an ideal Nigeria Police Force. She made the statement while giving strategic lecture for detectives to enhance professional attitude.
The AIG, while addressing the officers emphasize the need for continuous training and retaining, focusing on both technical skills and attitude , she reemphasize that only officers with certified prerequisites would serve within the FCID.
The FCID Alagbon Spokesperson Supol Mayegun Aminat said, the AIG Ogbodo Augustina PSC gave severe warning that officers must avoid civil matters, cases already receiving attention in court and unprofessional conduct that derelict the Nigeria Police Force image particularly on land-related disputes. Though Officers are subject to investigate criminal aspects of such cases but must avoid the booby traps of the civil matters to avoid unnecessary litigation with the Nigeria Police.
On the other hand, she commended the detectives hard work, noting the significant reduction in crime rates across the country.
According to the FCID Alagbon Annex Public Relations Officer, Supol Mayegun Aminat, AIG Ogbodo decorated 37 newly promoted officer including one Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), 13 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs), and 23 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), all of whom had been recently promoted by the Police Service Commission, following recommendation by the Inspector General of Police. In her address to the officers , “AIG Ogbodo commended the newly promoted officers for their dedication and urged officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity in their roles. She emphasized that discipline is the cornerstone of success within the force and encouraged the officers to shun corrupt practices while contributing positively to the growth and development of an ideal Nigeria Police Force”. ACP Muhammed Ahmed Usman, responding on the behalf of the newly promoted officers, “expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for the promotions. He also thanked AIG Ogbodo and the FCID Annex management team for their leadership and support. He assured the AIG of their commitment to uphold the rules, regulations, and ethical standards of the police force”.
