PSC APPOINTS AIG ARI DIG TO REPLACE ADE AYUBA AS ARGUNGU CALLS FOR PROFESSIONALISM AND ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CORRUPTION
The Police Service Commission today, Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, appointed AIG Ari Mohammed Ali Deputy Inspector General of Police to replace DIG Ade Ayuba who has retired from service. A statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Police Service Commission, Ikechukwu Ani has said in a released.
AIG Ari Mohammed Ali was until today the release AIG incharge of Zone one, Kano and hails from Nasarawa state in the North Central region of the country.
The development confirmed the elevation to the next rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police and assuming duties to represent the region from where the retired DIG Ayuba also hails from.
The PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu rtd mni, who presided over the emergency Management Meeting of the Commission called for professionalism and zero tolerance for Corruption from the new DIG.
Speaking further, DIG Argungu said the Commission will encourage the new DIG to fall in line with the Commission’s vision for a Police Force that is professional and accountable to the Nigerian people.
According to Argungu, the new PSC is building a new Police that will be a pride of the Nigeria people, free of corruption but full of vigor and determination to serve.
He noted that the Commission will continue to partner with the Police to ensure that it succeeds in its primary duty of protecting lives and property and dismantling crime and criminality.
He congratulated DIG Ari Mohammed Ali and charged him to go and give his best in the service of his fatherland.
DIG Taiwo Lakanu rtd, fdc, Honourable Commissioner and Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission also took time to congratulate the new DIG and assured him of the Commission’s support. Ani has said in the report.
