Wife of Nigeria’s president, Remi Tinubu has allegedly denied former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike opportunity to serve in president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet.
Reports have it that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu invited three minister nominee comprising Wike and former governor of Kano State, Ganduje for a meeting in Aso Rock. At the meeting, president Tinubu informed Wike and Ganduje that the Department of State Security Service (DSS) has denied them required clearance to serve in his cabinet.
An unnamed source who is allegedly privy to the development, disclosed that Wike angrily reacted to the president’s revelation. He accused Tinubu of betraying him despite his noticeable contribution to his presidential election victory. He explained that his support for Tinubu has earned him several enemies including in his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
However, the source claims that president Tinubu’s decision to remove Wike from the ministerial list was influenced by his wife, Remi Tinubu who does not trust Wike.
Also, it is speculated that Magnus Abe, a longtime friend of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will replace Wike in the ministerial list following the removal of his name.
