PSC Promotes Oluseyi Okuwobi, Toyin Kazeem, Tokunbo Abaniwonda alongside Seventy- Five Others.

PROBLEMS OF LOGISTICS AND MANPOWER RE-ECHOES AS PSC SCREENS AND PROMOTES MORE 78 SENIOR POLICE OFFICERS

The second Plenary Meeting of the present Police Service Commission skewed into another day Tuesday, December 17th 2024 with the promotion of another 78 senior Police Officers.

The Commission in Plenary approved the promotion of 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police to the next rank of Deputy Commissioners and 57 Chief Superintendents to Assistant Commissioners. A statement released by the PSC Spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani confirmed the aforesaid after the second plenary meeting on Tuesday.

According to initial reports, the earlier list released on Monday Plenary Meeting indicated , “The Commission had on Monday, December 16th 2024 approved the promotion of 11 Commissioners of Police to Assistant Inspectors General and 16 Deputy Commissioners to substantive Commissioners”.

Yesterday , Tuesday Plenary was stringently subject to Written and Oral Examinations. The oral examination highlighted the challenges in Logistics and Manpower in most of the Police Departments and Formations, Zones States, Areas and Divisional Commands.
For there to be a functional and smooth service delivery, the police officers implore that the challenges as identified should be thoroughly looked into for the overall interest of the Nigeria Police Force.

The above mentioned police officers were promoted to the next rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police.

However, while releasing the list to the Press , The PSC Spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, listed Fifty -Seven ( 57 ) Chief Superintendents of Police promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police,

The plenary meeting was presided by the Commission Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu rtd, mni and had in attendance Justice Paul Galumje retired, Justice of the Supreme Court and Honourable Commissioner in the Commission and DIG Taiwo Lakanu rtd, fdc, also Honourable Commissioner in the Commission. The Meeting continues today Wednesday, December 18th 2024, the Head of Press, and publicity Ikechukwu Ani stated in the said report.
