“Police On Payroll Of Land Grabber In Lagos”, Statement Unguided to weaponize public sentiments – Police

The apex Federal Criminal Investigation Department , Alagbon has reacted to the video clips that’s trending on social media platforms by one Mr Olufemi Fasheun against personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (especially against officers of the FCID Annex Lagos)

The purported allegations are false, malicious and misleading, a figment of the imaginations of Olufemi Fasheun the author of the circulating video clip. The unfounded allegations were mainly intended to weaponise public sentiments against the Police and elicit sympathy. A statement released from the Spokeperson of the Federal Criminal Investigation Department Annex Alagbon, ASP Maiyegun Aminat has said.

Speaking further on the allegations , the FCID spokesperson, ASP Maiyegun Aminat said the allegations levelled against personnel of the Apex FCID are weighty without veritable facts and as such a supposed International exposed, enlighten and sophisticated individual like he claims shouldn’t be making unguided allegations without recourse to legal implications of such.

Mr Olufemi Fasheun has alleged in the said video claiming, inter alia, that” …Police Officers from Alagbon (meaning Officers from the FCID Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos) are on the payroll of Land-Grabbers!”, when he was narrating his ordeal in the hands of some ‘notorious Land-Grabbers’ in Lagos, who (as he alleged) were trying to take away the land his family had lived on for sixty (60) years.

Sentiment has no place in law, We hope Mr Olufemi Fasheun is aware of the legal implications of his unguided utterances to the media/public, which are injurious or maligning to the credibility and reputations of individuals, corporate bodies and even governmental institutions (as in this case).

In the sighted document signed by the office of the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maiyegun Aminat she stated clearly that the apex FCID Annex, Alagbon Close Ikoyi Lagos, deemed it imperative to set the records straight by making these clarifications:

“That the allegations by Mr. Oufemi Fasheun against personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (especially against officers of the FCID Annex Lagos) are false, malicious and misleading”.

“The allegations against personnel on payroll of land grabbers must be identified and mentioned’.

“He is encouraged to bring forth such evidence for discreet investigation. He could even monitor what necessary action could be taken, if any”.

“Ownership of land and land cases are purely civil matters only the court resolved such not the police”.

“The video clip containing the offending statements against the officers of the Nigeria Police Force by Mr. Olufemi Masheun, is currently being analysed by the Legal Department of the FCID Annex, Lagos, to enable informed decision on the matter”.

“While reiterating the commitment and dedication of the entire personnel of the NPF in Lagos (especially officers of the FCID Annex) in sustaining peace and security in the State, we equally solicit for the support and cooperation of the good people of Lagos State, in this regard”. The FCID Alagbon Annex Spokeperson, ASP Maiyegun Aminat stated in the signed statement released and sighted by Aiyekooto Reporters.
