The Nigeria Police Force is ready for the cycle gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi State. This facilitated the distribution of additional 220 operational vehicles, including water canons, Armored Personnel Carriers, helmets, bullet proof vests, tear gas canisters etc to the affected states to boost and intensify security arrangements of the State.
The Inspector General of Police, Dr Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM who had earlier engaged Police Officers in rigorous training ahead of the gubernatorial elections has approach the Federal Government on Election allowances to boost morale of the officers assigned on the National assignment.
Speaking further, “the IGP Olukayode Egbetokun therefore urges all stakeholders in the 3 states to embrace peace, uphold the sanctity of the rule of law and be law-abiding in their endeavours before, during and after the elections as the Police and other security agencies have been placed on alert to avert any unruly acts capable of disrupting the elections in any of the states”. The Spokeperson of the Nigeria Police Force ACP Olumuyiwa.Adejobi has said in a released statement at Louis Edet House, Abuja yesterday.
