Police Arrests Killer Of Barrister Owhor In River State
ARREST OF SUSPECTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE MURDER OF BARRISTER BRIGHT OWHOR; RECOVERY OF WEAPONS AND VEHICLES.
The Rivers State Police Command has made a major breakthrough in the investigation of Barrister Bright Owhor’s tragic murder! The Spokesperson for the River State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko has said in Port Harcourt the State Capital.
According to the Police, the 46-year-old was killed by unidentified gunmen on July 6, 2025, at No. 40c Market Road, Rumuomasi, Port Harcourt. The meticulous intelligence work and technical surveillance by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for over ten days paid off as all individuals involved in the crime were identified and apprehended.
The suspects include:
- Prince Samuel, 30, armed operative
- Daniel Godwin, 25, driver of the getaway vehicle
- Henry Peter, 24, arm supplier and the one who shot the victim
- Godfrey Emmanuel a.k.a. Ibu, 30, gang leader
- Chukwu Nneji, 34
- Justice Dimkpa, 27
- Promise Wikere, 22, handler of stolen vehicles
During interrogation, they confessed to being members of the Deygbam Secret Cult Group and admitted to their roles in the murder, withdrawing funds from the victim’s bank account, and involvement in recent cult-related violence.
The police recovered several exhibits, including:
- One MTN SIM card
- Four locally made pistols
- Seven rounds of 9mm ammunition
- Two live cartridges
- One Mini Bus
- One Toyota Camry
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, commended the operational prowess of the operatives, highlighting the command’s commitment to safety and security.
