POCACOV: IGP Appoints Dr Ayo Ogunsan As Lagos State POCACOV Chairman

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM has endorsed the appointment of a Lagos State Security expert as Lagos State Chairman of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV).

POCACOV is a police department curve out from the office of the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Office with clear objectives to take away crime from the street before they are hatched through internal protective mechanism put in place by serious strategic engagement, information disseminations and stakeholders collaboration in reducing crime rates in the country.

The noble idea is convey by the Police hierarchy in taking the police initiatives to the local people across the thirty six states of the federation.

In the strength of the aforementioned, the National Coordinator, CSP Olabisi Oluseyi Okuwobi of POCACOV confirmed the appointment of a Lagos State Security Trust Fund Board Member Dr Ayodele Ogunsan in a letter dated 19th April 2024 with file no: CB/3422/FPRO/POCV/FHQ/ABJ/VOL1/9.

He will bring his experience to bear as Lagos State POCACOV Chairman. ” Your responsibilities in this role will include but not limited to presiding and overseeing the activities of POCACOV initiative within Lagos State alongside the Police coordinator …'” CSP Okuwobi quoted in the letter sighted by AR correspondent.

According to the National Coordinator of POCACOV , CSP Olabisi Oluseyi Okuwobi said the appointment of Dr Ayodele Ogunsan is base on merit , a round peg in round hole, “sequel to thorough review on your qualification, pedigree, experience and dedication to public service we are confident that you will make an unprecedented valuable contribution to POCACOV”.

The appointment of Dr Ayodele Ogunsan takes immediate effect as subsequent directives and inauguration of POCACOV chairmen nationwide will be communicated in due course, the letter read
