ANAMBRA POLICE RECOVERS FABRICATED AK-47 RIFLE AS MANHUNT FOR THE SUSPECT INTENSIFIES
The Anambra State Police Command has intensify efforts to ensure that ndi Anambra enjoy the security architecture put in place by the leadership of the Commissioner of Police ,CP Ikioye Orutugu.
In vein of the above, Police operatives from the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu recovered an abandoned fabricated AK-47 rifle along with one magazine without ammunition in an apartment at Umuike Village, Awka on August 14, 2025.
This operation was part of ongoing investigations into a case involving conspiracy, murder, and unlawful possession of firearms. Two male victims were murdered in Okochi Village, Okpuno, Awka South Local Government Area. SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the state made details available to Aiyekooto Reporters.
According to him, the principal suspect, identified as Nwajagu, has been on the run since the incident. Nwajagu was traced to an apartment in Awka but fled through the back door upon sighting police operatives.
The Anambra State Police Command assures that efforts are intensified to apprehend Nwajagu and bring him to justice. Meanwhile , the recovered firearm has been taken into custody as an exhibit, SP Ikenga has said in the reports
