Early Life and Education
Originally from a large Urhobo family in Delta State and mum from Ibadan so she is also yoruba since yoruba recognise maternal ancestry, Faithia was raised in Ikeja, Lagos State. She attended Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, later obtaining her diploma from Kwara State Polytechnic. In 2016, she pursued further education in Filmmaking at Olabisi Onabanjo University to deepen her expertise in the entertainment industry.
Career Journey
Faithia’s acting career began unexpectedly when her uncle, the late Alhaji Fatai Teniola, asked her to stand in for an absent actress. Her first appearance was in Ta lo pa chief, marking the start of her career. Over the years, she gained acclaim for her dynamic performances and has taken on multiple roles as an actress, producer, and director. She has won numerous awards, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for “Most Outstanding Actress” in 2008 for her role in Iranse Aje, and a 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Indigenous Language for her work in Iya Alalake.
Personal Life
Faithia was married to Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun, with whom she shares two children. She also has a son from an earlier relationship. During her marriage, she adopted her husband’s last name, becoming Faithia Balogun, and also embraced his religious beliefs.
