The Lagos State Police Command has debunked a security alert going viral on social media platforms that Gbagada Expressway is a red flag for commuters and people in the axis, stating, “an increase in kidnapping incidents along Gbagada Expressway.” The viral video quoted the Lagos State Police Command warning citizens of the impediment.
Reacting to the aforementioned, the Lagos State Police Command Spokeperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has said no such warning emanated from the Lagos State Command.
Speaking further, the Lagos State Police Command is not unmindful of the concern raised in the alert, though it’s despicable quoting the Command and raising such disturbing alarm when such didn’t exist .
Though the issue of security, is a serious business “the Commissioner of Police, CP Fayoade M. Adegoke mni has ordered an immediate review of the area, raise the bar of the security architecture of the entire area , put the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders on alert , in a bid to forestall such occurrence.
The security architecture of the people of Lagos State will be optimally reviewed to ensure the safety of Lagosian and environment in going about their normal businesses without fear of harassment or intimidation.
