LAGOS SECURITY TOWN HALL MEETING: ‘NOBODY CAN WORK WITHOUT TOOLS’ – CP ODUMOSU; COMMENDS LSSTF, WANTS CITIZENS TO DONATE

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has reiterated the need for all Lagosians to extend support to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) because the agency has proven its effectiveness and accountability to the cosmopolitan state in its 15 years of existence. He made this known earlier today in an interview with Pressmen covered by Oki Samson of Trek Africa Newspaper during the Annual Town Hall Meeting organized by the Trust Fund.

CP Hakeem Odumosu said: ‘Nobody can work without tools. This is why Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has been a source of inspiration and example for other states to emulate because for it to consistently be on for 15 years and still running, we have to give kudos to the Lagos State Government, management, and other stakeholders. Without that, we might not have achieved as much as we have achieved because you cannot work without tools. The existence of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has helped tremendously in making sure that we are able to perform our responsibility.’

‘I want the members of the public to continue to have the confidence in LSSTF to donate because everything donated is judiciously used. How many government agencies give account of stewardship but Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF does that every year, so we plead that citizens will continue because the benefits of the support is being seen in the security architecture of the state.’

On the yuletide celebration, the CP said that he has ordered officers to arrest anyone using fireworks. ‘I have directed all my area commanders and officers to move out and arrest anybody that sells and uses fireworks because it can lead to breach in the security of the state.’

‘Whatever we have this year will be carried into next year because in Lagos now, we are proactive. We don’t wait until problem starts. Proactiveness is our hallmark. Whatever we have been doing now will not be stopped Dec. 31st. Failure to plan is already planning to fail’, he affirmed about the commitment of the Nigeria Police in Lagos to maintain security in the year ahead.
