Lagos Police Arrest Uber Driver For Multiple Rape And Assault On Female Passengers

LAGOS POLICE ARREST SERIAL COMMERCIAL TAXI DRIVER RAPIST FEATURED IN VIRAL POSTS FOR MULTIPLE RAPE AND ASSAULT CASES ON SERIAL VICTIMS IN THE STATE

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Adedayo Ben Adegbola, a suspect linked to multiple cases of rape, defilement, assault, and armed robbery against female passengers has been arrested. The spokesperson for the Lagos State Command, SP Abimbola Abiola has said in a statement released and privy to Aiyekooto Reporters.

The arrest follows a thorough investigation after victims reported the crimes, and a viral online post about the suspect’s alleged activities.

According to the Police Spokesperson SP Abimbola Abiola, Adegbola was apprehended on October 31, 2025, at 9:40 am by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

It should be recalled that a video went viral about various crimes committed by the suspect Adegbola to the opposite sex taking advantage of their vulnerable state on his Uber car.

The suspect is accused of rape, defilement, assault occasioning harm, indecent assault, and multiple armed robberies targeting female passengers.

SP Abimbola Abiola has said the SCID Operatives has recovered a red Toyota Corolla (registration number JJJ 226 HT) used in the commission of the crimes.

She said further that, the police are intensifying efforts to identify and apprehend any other suspects involved.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh urge potential victims to come forward and provide information to aid the investigation, assuring them of protection. He called on Lagosians to cooperate with the police to make Lagos safer for all.
