Police intelligence operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad have arrested a 42-year old woman, Kuburat Saka, allegedly behind rumoured bum enlargement death of the wife of first class traditional ruler, Oba Elegushi, Olori Sekinat, in Lagos State.
Olori Sekinat Elegushi was rumoured to have died through the social media due to bum enlargement complications from a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery, which was false.
The suspect, Kuburat Saka, was alleged to be among those spreading the false information through cyber stalking by intentionally sending messages through her phone via Facebook and Instagram handles.
The suspect was arrested via a tracking device at Alakuko area of Lagos State.
She has been charged before Ogba Magistrate Court for allegedly using her phone with Instagram and Facebook handles with codename, Citiscoop, to spread false information that Olori Sekirat went for the surgery and had complications that almost cost her life.
The alleged offence attracts several years of imprisonment if she is found guilty.
When she was arraigned in Court however, she pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Supol Rachael Williams, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. F. O. Ameen, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood, tax payment and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery is an operation, which involves fat transfer procedure that augments the size and shape of the buttocks without implants and excess fat is removed from the hips, abdomen, lower back, or thighs with liposuction, and a portion of this fat is then strategically injected into the buttocks.
