KANO STATE CHAPTER OF POWA ORGANIZES HEALTH AWARENESS SENSITIZATION FOR POLICE OFFICERS’ WIVES
The Kano State Chapter of Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) recently organized a health awareness program for Police Officers’ Wives on August 9, 2025.
This event was in collaboration with the Salihan-Nur Charity Foundation and held at the Police Officers’ Mess-Bompai Kano. A statement released by the Kano State Police Command Public Relations Officer SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa has said.
According to the Police Spokesperson SP Kiyawa, the program aimed to educate and sensitize Police Officers’ Wives on various women’s health-related problems.
The Guest Speaker, Amb. Dr. Nura Salihu Adam, Founder of Salihan-Nur Charity Foundation, delivered a lecture highlighting the importance of health awareness and preventive measures.
In attendance, was the Honourable Commissioner of Women Affairs, Children and Disabled, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani, representing the wife of the Executive Governor of Kano State, as well as wives of senior Police Officers.
The Honourable Commissioner commended POWA for the initiative and pledged the Ministry’s support.
While the Chairperson of POWA expressed gratitude and reaffirmed POWA’s commitment to promoting the well-being and welfare of Police Officers’ Wives.
Also the Kano State Police Command appreciated POWA’s efforts and assured support for initiatives promoting personnel and family welfare .SP Kiyawa said in the report sighted by Aiyekooto Reporters.
