IGP Encourage Promoted Police Officers Approved By Police Service Commission
POLICE WELFARE: IGP TO DECORATE PROMOTED NATIONAL AWARD RECIPIENTS
The Nigeria Police Force is making history, in what stand novel and a new phenomenal, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, is set to decorate select officers who’ve been approved for promotion by the Police Service Commission. Newly promoted DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi , the Force Police Public Relations Officer has said in a statement released.
Stating further, these promotions are a public endorsement of excellence, recognizing officers who’ve shown exceptional conduct, courage, and character.
The promoted officers include:
- CSP Shaba Aliyu, promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Police Officer of the Year 2023)
- SP Sentome Obi, promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police (Police Officer of the Year 2024)
Other officers who’ve won awards twice within the last two award cycles and Staff Officers at the IGP Secretariat with multiple commendation letters will also benefit from this wave of accelerated promotions.
According to DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP is using this opportunity to underscore the importance of institutional pride and trust. He’s directed the deployment of the police jet to convey ACP Aliyu Shaba and CSP Sentome Obi to Abuja for their formal decoration. Their photographs will be proudly displayed at the main entrance of Force Headquarters, as well as at Zonal and States Command Headquarters .
The Nigeria Police Force is committed to building a force where honour is celebrated, service is valued, and excellence is the expectation. They’re warning malicious actors who try to sabotage these efforts that they’ll respond decisively to falsehoods calculated to derail reform.
