This is the situation in the Anambra State Police Command, it’s no longer news that a new Sheriff is in town.
CP itam has taken it upon himself to ascertain his leadership style to the Personnel’s he met on ground at the Command.
A report from the Anambra State Police Command in Akwa has confirmed that the State Commissioner of Police took time to enlightened the officers the expected rudimentary role of certain departments of the Nigeria Police Force, this is to reinvigorate the Command of the rules of engagement and disengagement.
According to the Spokeperson of the Anambra State Police Command,SP Tochukwu Ikenga, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, lectures Police Personnel attached to the Criminal Investigation Department, Awka, provides a guide, reviews the modus operandi on criminal investigation in preparation for the task ahead.
In the view of this, he admonished the significance of the department in professional discharge of their function as investigative guru to identify offenders and persecute same . He reminded them of being at their best as the apex of Investigation in the State.
Speaking further, “he also provides guide to the operatives in assessing petitions when they are assigned for investigation, which includes if the case will end in prosecution, help in administrative decisions, as well as resources recovery or Otherwise”.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga stated that, CP Nnaghe Itam , proceeded on a familiarization tour to Area Command’s and Divisional Police Headquarters to assess manpower deployment, personnel positioning, and Physical structure of the Building/Offices in some of the designated Command structures and Divisional headquarters in the State.
Having done that, he reassured the people of ndi Anambra of experiencing the best policing under his watch. The Police Spokeperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga told AR correspondent of the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam mission in the statement released as stated above
