Ekiti VoterI sold my vote for 5K because of the future, the money is small but I’m happy i sold it ekiti voter declares in a recently conducted gubernatorial election in the state.One of the voters who participated in the recently concluded governorship election in Ekiti State has shared the reason why he sold his vote despite the warning by prominent Nigerians against vote-buying. Recall that voters in their thousands have trooped out to different polling units yesterday in Ekiti State to elect the person that will lead the state in the next four years.The battle is between 3 major parties PDP, APC and SDP. from the result announced so far, the ruling All Progressive Congress is leading by a slight margin in most of the polling units, however, the other two parties are also pulling a strong resistance. In a video shared by a popular human rights activist, Deje Adeyanju, one of the voters who participated in the election revealed that he sold his vote for five thousand naira because of his future.The voter admitted that the money is small because it can’t buy a bed or pay his house rent, but he is happy he sold his vote.“I sold my vote for 5k because of the future, I know the money is small. It can’t rent a house or even buy a bed but I am happy I sold it.” He said.In a similar development, another voter was jubilating to have sold her votes to another party after almost falling prey for selling it for three thousand naira which she later take home seven thousand naira for the new bargain.A source hinted Aiyekooto Reporters that most major parties are involved in inciting the voters with money and the vote buying rackets went on unabaitedly as security agents appear to be helpless. Though there’s reported cases of handful arrest.
