The former military administrator of Osun State, Colonel Anthony Uzoma Obi (rtd) is dead.
Obi, who filled in as the military governor of Osun State between August 1996 and August 1998, died on Saturday, January 1, as declared by his family.
Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in a sympathy message, grieved the end of the former military administrator.
He condoled the family of the deceased and hailed his commitments to administration in Osun, saying he was one of the leaders who established the framework of the State.
“The death of Colonel Anthony Obi (rtd) is difficult and a huge loss not exclusively to his family yet to the country. He was a valiant, submitted and experienced military official who served Nigeria and Osun specifically sacrificially and energetically.
“As a military administrator, Obi made wonderful commitments to administration in Osun and was one of the leaders who established the framework of our State and left a few inheritances he will be associated with,” he said.
“For the benefit of my family, government and individuals of Osun, I stretch out my most unfathomable sympathies to the family of Colonel Anthony Obi (rtd). However his death is wrecking, I ask you to take comfort in the traditions of benevolence, impressive skill and administration to humankind he left behind.”
Governor Oyetola prayed God to grant the spirit of the deceased eternal rest and give his bereaved family, friends and partners the mettle to bear the colossal lost.
