The All Progressive Congress held its national campaign ahead of the 2023 general election on November 15 in Jos. The presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu sparked mixed reactions after a mistake he made while addressing APC supporters. In the video which has since gone viral, the former governor of Lagos state mistakenly tried to pray for the opposition party, PDP. In the viral video, Tinubu was heard saying “God bless PD..” before realizing his mistake and quickly changing it to APC. A spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress, Femi Fani-Kayode reacted to the viral video making rounds online in a post he made on his official Twitter handle.

According to Fani-Kayode, Tinubu was following the teachings of the Bible by praying for his enemies. His post goes: “Bible says “pray for your enemies and show them love for it is like heaping coals of fire on their heads. In doing so, the Lord will reward you. Am glad that BAT prayed for PDP.”
