Dr Arase Advocates for Level Playing Field in Police Academy Admission

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission who also double as Co-Chairman of the Governor -in – council of the Police Academy, Wudil Kano, Dr Solomon Arase CFR paid a courtesy Visit on Tuesday the 14th November 2023.

The Police Academy, Wudil is currently screening candidates for the 2023 admission. The former Inspector General of Police, Dr Solomon Arase CFR while addressing the Management of the Academy advised on federal character reflection, fairness and justice, level playing ground for all applicants to the Academy.

According to him, admission processes must be collaborative and inclusive of government agencies that make up the Police Recruitment Board. The Board is headed by the Police Service Commission and has Members from the Nigeria Police Force, the Ministry of Police Affairs, Federal Character Commission and Police Colleges.

The Chairman , Dr Arase noted that the process of admission must be in tune with best practices and requirements of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.

Speaking further, he said in places, “where there were glitches in the Computer based tests, it should be addressed so as not to deny some candidates the opportunity of a level playing field”.

The PSC Chairman also demanded that every candidate must be allowed to go through all the selection processes after which the Recruitment Board would decide on numbers for admission based on equality of states. He also made a case for Gender sensitivity and commended the Management of the Academy for the good work they are doing. The Commission Spokeperson, Ikechukwu Ani has said in the report sent to Aiyekooto Reporters.
