Boastful Islamic Cleric Given 72 Hours To Turn Up Or Risk Arrest – Kwara State Police

Kwara State Police Command has ordered for the immediate arrest of one Salaam Ayodeji a Muslim cleric in what it terms a threat to national security culpable of breakdown of law and order in the already tense state.

It should be recalled that the Islamic cleric threatened traditionalists in the State and make good the promise when he visited one Tajudeen and wife who reside at Alaran compound, ilorin. The couple is noted for their electronics business in the area.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi whose professional strategy has been put to test severally in a religious bigots state, though was on top of the security threat in all ramifications in the State due to her understanding of the security architecture of the state and in collaboration of other sister agency in the protection of life and property in the State.

The furious CP Adelesi declared the Islamic cleric wanted, ask the family to produce their son who is seen by law as a security risk in the State within the next seventy two hours.

The Kwara State Police commissioner in admonishing the Ayodeji family said failure to reprimand their son when necessary, lack of proper behavior is the consequence of the rudely behavior of their son.

She asked the family of Ayodeji to look for their son and produce him to the command from wherever he might have escaped to latest Wednesday this week, just as she said that the command had begun manhunt for him

She also reprimanded Alaran family on the refund and evicting the couple from their possession which is done in bad fate.

Reacting to the CP , the family notify the Kwara State Police Command that since Friday that their son had not been on sight or seen by anyone, nor his phone reachable.

The victim, Tajudeen in his response said, he leaves everything in the hands of God that the family have pleaded with for forgiveness.

Spokesperson of Kwara State Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi had earlier told journalists in Ilorin that contrary to the claims of the Muslim Cleric that he had the backing of Commissioner of Police to threaten the suspected traditionalists, that the Police Boss never gave such approval””

“It should be recalled that, the Muslim cleric, in a circulated three and half minutes video, had visited a shop said to be owned by a female traditionalist, where fairly used TV sets are sold at Alaran community in Ilorin. In the video Salaam Ayodeji was seen boasting that the state commissioner of Police, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, was aware of his visit to the shop”.

The defamation of the character of CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi by the suspect, misleading the public and issuing threat to lawful citizens is not only unlawful but punishable under the purview of the law . The PPRO of the State, has said in the statement released.
