A testament to the Human spirit’s capacity to overcome the Unimaginable

Bahia Bakari’s incredible story is one of survival, resilience, and courage. On June 30, 2009. Yemenia Flight 626, carrying 153 people, crashed into the Indian Ocean near the Comoros Islands. Bahia, just 12 years old at the time, was the sole survivor of the crash that claimed the lives of everyone else on board, including her mother.

Aiyekooto Reporters decided to publish the Bahia’s harrowing Survival story to educate us.

The courage to do something at a helpless and hopeless situation is a necessity that must be adhere to.

Therefore, silence is not golden in all situations. Bahia survival philosophy to do something is the reason she’s alive , if she’s paranoid and indecisive the rest will be history.

Bahia in the silent night did something spectacular, something impressive she clung to a piece of the plane’s wreckage in the dark, cold waters of the Indian Ocean for over nine hours.

The courage and bravery of a lion despite having no life jacket and minimal swimming skills, Bahia held on through the night.

The helper emerge because she decided that her date with destiny to survive has come, the fate of the unknown, help from unusual and uncommon quarter, she was rescued by a sailor from the ship Sima Com 2 who jumped into the water to pull her to safety.

The hero of the world , aftermath and Legacy remain a mystery although
Bahia suffered injuries including a fractured pelvis and collarbone.

She wrote a book about her experience, titled “Moi Bahia, la miraculée” (“I’m Bahia, the miracle girl”). Bahia declined an offer from Steven Spielberg to adapt her story into a film.

She’s become a symbol of hope and resilience. Bahia has spoken publicly about her experience, sharing messages of courage and perseverance.

Bahia Bakari’s story is a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to overcome unimaginable adversity. She’s the hero of the world.
