Aunty Ayo Lalagbọn : The Compassionate Police Detective

This accord was made by the Kenneri singer, Dr Orlando Owoh and a compassionate detective Police Officer, Ayodele Fadairo whose milk of human compassion never evaded the maestro singer.

Aunty Ayo Lalagbon, whose real name was Ayodele Fadairo, was a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) who gained fame after being mentioned in Dr. Orlando Owoh’s hit album “Experience”.

The Force Criminal Investigation Department Alagbon is reputed to be known as ‘Colombian Den’ where suspects experience ‘ Hell on Earth”.

The Alagbon album release by Dr Orlando Owoh was his best hit song, he sold over 5 million copies. The album still remains evergreen today.

The album, released in 1988, narrated Owoh’s detention experience at the most dreaded Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Alagbon Ikoyi, Lagos which serves as nemesis to notorious suspects in the country. While in detention for narcotic offenses, Aunty Ayo showed him kindness and care. She reportedly advised him to quit smoking and offered support during his difficult times.

Aunty Ayo’s compassion towards Owoh during his detention earned her a special place in his heart, and she was immortalized in his music. This earn her an heroic recognition across the globe!

According to Aiyekooto Reporters , Aunty Ayo served in the Nigeria Police Force for 35 years, retiring in 2010 as an ACP. She worked in various stations, including the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) at Alagbon, Ikoyi. Lagos.

Many paid tribute to her legacy, describing her as a symbol of kindness, generosity, and commitment to justice .

Aunty Ayo passed away on September 28, 2024. She was laid to rest at Ikoyi Cemetery, adjacent to the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Alagbon , symbolizing her connection to the police force.

Her funeral service was attended by serving and retired police officers, family members, and friends, who celebrated her life and legacy.
