The deputy governor of Edo, Phillip Shaibu, staged a walk-out at a state event on Monday after his aides, including security personnel, were turned away.
In a video posted by Arise Television on Monday, Shaibu can be seen entering the location of the state government-organized 60th anniversary of the Midwest referendum while his entourage is barred from entering.
When the deputy governor sought permission for his team to come with him into the venue, a security official was seen as blocking the way.
After what appeared like some time of waiting, the embattled deputy governor signalled his team to leave the venue of the referendum saying “let’s go”.
A visibly frustrated deputy governor was seen leading his aides out of the venue after which they boarded their vehicles and drove away.
