SECURITY REPORT IN ANAMBRA: POLICE SWIFTLY RESPOND TO INCIDENTS TO AVERT FURTHER LOSS OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES IN THE STATE
The antecedents of good policing is not just about aftermaths of crime committing but crime prevention and control. Good Policing is good when Prevention and Control interplay to make the environment safer.
This is what the Anambra State Police Command did while putting in place it’s security architecture to prevent and control crimes in the State.
According to a report made available to Aiyekooto Reporters Correspondence Reporter, a Police led Security Forces on Sunday, 24th November, 2024 around 2:30pm responded to an attack on members of the ASV of Umuchu extraction along Amesi/UGA road and rescue one wounded Vigilante, he is responding to treatment.
The Police reports , indicated that an activated intelligent information led patrols in the area aimed to deny the criminals the space they enjoy to cause havoc and possibly arrest has been deployed. Though no human casualties was lost but the ASG Toyota Frontier Van was razed down due to the gun exchange that hits the fuel tank.
“In another development, on 24th November 2024 by 4.30 pm, the Police Operatives from Okpoko Divisional headquarters responded to a distress call of a fire outbreak at Chukwunonso Street along Obodoukwu Road Okpoko and cordoned off the scene of the incident to prevent hoodlums from taking undue advantage of the situation to loot properties and goods of individuals”. The Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga stated in the reports.
Meanwhile, the swift response of the Fire Service Operatives brought the situation under control. The Command has however begun an investigation into the cause of the fire incident to avert future occurrence.
