Anambra Police: Gives Account On the Move To End Criminality In The State

ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND DIARY FOR THE WEEK UNDER REVIEW: POLICE ARRESTED A SUSPECT WITH A PRIVATE PART OF A LADY, RECOVERED AN ABANDONED SUSPECTED STOLEN VEHICLE, RESCUED A KIDNAPPED DRIVER UNHURT AND ARRESTED THREE SUSPECTS FOR DIVERSION OF A TRUCK LOADED WITH GOODS WORTH NINE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND NAIRA

The Anambra State Police Command has made some notable breakthroughs recently. The State Police Commissioner working in accordance to the directive of the Inspector General Of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun PhD, CP Ikioye Orutugu PhD has sent the signal that Anambra State should be free from criminality and other social vices. While the Command took the bull by the horn, considerable success were recorded in the week under reviews.

According to report emanating from the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, he gave vivid account of the sequences of the progress made so far during the validated period under reviews.

  • Arrest of Suspect with Woman’s Breast: According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, a 25-year-old male suspect, Samuel Eze, was arrested with a woman’s breast along Jude Onyekwere Street, Awada, Obosi on July 6, 2025. The recovered body part has been deposited at the morgue for preservation, and the suspect is undergoing police interrogation.
  • Rescue of Kidnapped Driver:

Speaking further, he said , Police officers attached to the Rapid Response Squad rescued a kidnapped driver on July 4, 2025, and recovered a truck loaded with custard powder worth N9.5 million. Three suspects were arrested in connection with the crime:
Udegenyi Ugochukwu, 38 years old
Anayochukwu Okonkwo, 47 years old
Good Odigili, 47 years old

  • Recovery of Stolen Vehicle:

While briefing bewildered Journalists in Akwa he concluded that Police recovered a suspected stolen custom color Toyota Sienna with registration number 736 JP and an inscription “Forum of Accountants Delta State”. The vehicle was recovered on July 5, 2025, along Okpuno – Umuota Village, Obosi. The police invite anyone looking for the vehicle to come forward with valid proof of ownership for verification and possible collection. SP Ikenga has said in the reports privy to Aiyekooto Reporters.
