JOINT SECURITY FORCE ARRESTS COUPLE OVER AN ALLEGED CASE OF ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING OF PERSONS IN ANAMBRA
The Anambra State Police Command is aware and already investigating a related recent trending voice note of a security report on how a victim escaped abduction by an alleged Security Operative
The Anambra State Police Command have arrested couple who specializes in using Voice Note Messages in Kidnapping , abducting, threatening and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public. The Anambra State Police Spokesperson, SP Tochuckwu Ikenga has said in a released document in Akwa.
Acting on intelligence reports received by the Joint Security Network comprising the Police and AVG on unwarranted text messages and voice notes received by unsuspecting members of the public on threats of abduction and kidnap.
The Joint Security Operation has arrested a couple who are notorious in perpetuating this queer crime. Mr Okoye Kingsley age 36 years and wife Mrs Chidinma Okoye 27 years respectively of
Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State are making useful informations to the police in reference on the aforementioned.
According to the Police, several phones and sim cards were recovered. “The Couple specialises in sending threatening messages to people and demanding ransom or they shall be abducted or killed. The couples confessed to the crime and admitted to destroying some of the sim cards which they had earlier used to commit the crimes”.
Looking at the peculiarity of the case , the State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has ordered and directed the immediate transfer of the case to the Anti-Kidnapping /Robbery Squad for comprehensive investigations. Assuring the ndi Anambra that suspects will have a date in Court.
In another development, “the Command is aware of and already investigating a recent and related voice note of a security report to a Police Station on how a victim escaped abduction by an alleged Security operative”.
‘The Command did not take the information for granted. Hence, activates all the necessary intelligence tools to unmask the suspects and nip the issue in the bud to avoid reoccurrence’. SP Tochuckwu Ikenga has said in the reports.
