The Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM in a grand ceremony held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja along with members of the Force Management Team, has decorated the four newly promoted Deputy Inspector General of Police who were promoted recently by the Police Service Commission.
The promotion and approval by the Police Service Commission is sequence to the compulsory retirement of the former DIGs. The PSC in accordance to Police ethics and constitutional rights courageously promoted the next officers in rank and geopolitical zones base on equity , fairness and justice.
To this effect the Acting IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM acting on the strength of the constitutionality, therefore decorated the affected police officers , they are as follows, Usman D. Nagogo, Daniel Sokari- Pedro, Ibrahim Sani Kaoje and Ede Ayuba Ekpeji.
The occasion was graced by several dignitaries, including the Chief Judge of Sokoto State, His Lordship, Justice Mohammed Saidu Sifawa; former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Faruk Yahaya retired, the President, African Military Sports Council, Major-General Abdullahi Maikano, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Police Mortgage Bank, Abubakar Suleiman among others.
The Inspector General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun charged the newly decorated officers to key into the policy drives and mission statement of his administration and tasked them to exercise supervisory roles over their respective geo-political zones for effective and efficient policing.
