Anambra Police Recovers AK 47 riffle , Engage Armed Criminals At Ekwulobua Flyover

ANAMBRA SECURITY: UPDATE ON POLICE-LED JTF ENCOUNTER WITH ARMED CRIMINALS AT OKO AND EKWULOBIA FLYOVER

The Anambra State Police Command has made significant progress in addressing recent security challenges in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga while briefing journalists in Akwa the state capital, stated the recovery of AK-47 Rifle with a fully loaded magazine.

According to him, it was recovered by the Police-led Joint Security Force at Aguata on July 9, 2025. The weapon is believed to have been abandoned by fleeing armed criminals.

It is believed that the assailants opened fire indiscriminately under the Ekwulobia flyover and launched an attack on the Oko Divisional Police Headquarters earlier on the same day.

Surveillance and intelligence operations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects connected to the attacks. The area remains calm and under control.
