CP Orutugu visit scene of crime, order operatives to fish out the perpetrators of dastard acts
The Anambra State Police Command is actively investigating a recent incident where two individuals were gruesomely murdered by armed men on a motorcycle in Egbebelu village, Nanka.
According to the Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga , two persons were murdered by yet-to-be-identified armed men operating on a motorcycle. The victims were attacked while returning from a court session in Ekwulobia.
The report revealed that one of the victims was a legal practitioner who had secured the bail of an accused person in a pending murder case.
SP Ikenga said that preliminary investigations suggest that the victims were trailed and double-crossed by the assailants. A red Toyota Camry vehicle, believed to belong to one of the deceased, was recovered from the scene. One of the victims survived the attack and is receiving medical treatment; the survivor has provided crucial information aiding ongoing investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, led a team of senior officers to the crime scene. An intensive investigation has been ordered, and tactical and intelligence teams have been deployed to track down the perpetrators.
