Activates onslaught Operations against fleeing gang members

The Anambra State Police Command and Vigilantes Joint Operations on the early hours of 22/11/2024 neutralized a member of an armed robbery gang terrorising and operating along Nkwo Enugu Ukwu Road in the State.

Briefing newsmen in Akwa the State Capital, the Spokesperson of the Police, SP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed that during the Joint Operations one AK-47 rifle, two magazines and five rounds of live ammunition were recovered.

According to him, the Operatives were acting on credible intelligence, about the planned operation by the armed robbery gangs. The Joint Operations of the Police and Vigilante then acted swiftly and condone off the area, the Joint Operatives engaged the armed robbery gang in a gun duel, overpowered them which made them took to their heels, some of the gang members escape with bullet wounds. While there’s hot chase on the fleeing members of the gangs by the Police.

However, the Police have restored confidence of the people and reclaim security dominance in the area.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga , he said the Commissioner of Police , CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has assured ndi Anambra of maximum security and urges residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their area to nearest police stations, Aiyekooto Reporters reports.
