Police Rejig Formations To Tackle Ember Months Arrest Six Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Weapons In Delta State

The Delta State Police Command, CP Wale Abass Psc has regimented the police security architecture of the state to enable it tackle the rising challenges of crime in the State during the embers months raging from September to December. The height of the this led to the formation of Ember Months Special Operation Team.

There’s no doubt that the crime strategy exhibited by the Delta State Police Commissioner CP Wale Abass Psc has brought succour to the people of Delta State as progressive effort’s has led to multiple achievements in crime prevention and control in the State.

Briefing Journalists in Asaba the State capital of the recent development in a statement signed by the Command Spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe has said about considerable progress.

According to him, a team led by SP Inyere Elias Chinedu were on night patrol along Asaba – Benin Expressway by Rain Oil Filing Station, while on duty the team intercepted a commercial shuttle bus (REG NUMBER UNKNOWN) with four male passengers. While searching the bus, one English Beretta pistol, one dagger, was recovered from one of the occupants identified as Ishiaku Ya’u. The suspect and exhibits are in custody, and investigation has commenced. Efforts are being intensified to track down members of his gang and recover other weapons.

In a similar development on 22/10/2023 at about 2120hours, while sector ‘C’ of the ember months patrol were on stop and search duty along Asaba-Benin expressway, they intercepted a shuttle bus with two male passengers, and upon search of the passengers, one locally made cut-to-size gun, and two live cartridges were recovered from them. Suspects were arrested immediately, and they have since been charged to court.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, reiterates that it is the primary duty of the police to ensure that lives and properties are safe at all times.

He appeals to the public to play pivotal roles that will help the police carry out their duties effectively by reaching out to the police over any suspicious movements or persons in their environment through the contacts of the Command that is already emplaced to help in the fight against crime and criminality, DSP Bright Edafe has said in the released document.
