There’s no doubt that the Nigeria economy is down and the effects on the standard of living of the average Nigerians is telling geometrically and statistics is always rubbish in clear sequency.

However, many multinationals companies are finding subtle ways to adjust and survive the current trend. There’s great hope sooner than expected that good governance and governmental policy will address some of this issues especially the effects of the American dollars that has been a hydra monster to the Nigerian economy.

Therefore, the continuous nosedive of the Naira against the dollars requires economy logic to vitalize hence a proactive steps has to be taken in all segment of the economy.

This disposition is the reason why partnership with relevant government agency must be taken seriously to cushion effect.

The partnership drive of
Nigerian popular Pastor, Philanthropist, Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries Apostle Dr Chibuzor Gift Chinyere with Open University Nigeria is one of the motives that must be appalled. The management team of the church led by Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere visionary steps should be kudos in the negotiations.

Students has been abandoned oversee by certain government in power due to change of government or lack of fund leaving such international students to their fates. Alot of International students suffers the unpleasant circumstances. Hence, it’s quite a misnomer strategic effect.

Base on the aforementioned, the OPM leadership partnership with Open University Nigeria is a welcome development instead of total abandonment of the international students abroad. The massive projects and the continuous rise of dollar on the Capital market is allude with the strategic steps taken until the economy improve.

The Nigeria Open University embraced the foresight of the OPM leadership to partner it in absorbing her willing international students abroad who are interested to come home to continue the pursuit of their studies.

The OPM in a release statement sighted by The Parrot Reporters stated clearly that, OPM will be sending lots of our scholarship students to OPEN UNIVERSITY because of the high rate of dollars, most of our children studying overseas and still wish to continue their education in the same class they are overseas now have opportunity to OPEN UNIVERSITY which is still under OPM overseas university scholarship.
It doesn’t affect the duration of years, for instance , if you are in year 2 overseas, you can come to OPEN UNIVERSITY Nigeria and continue in Year 2, but you must provide your transcript from the overseas university. This will give privilege opportunities to the less privileged children. To buttress further, In one of our sponsored university in USA, the tuition fees is $45,000 which is almost #20 million for one student alone in a year while, OPEN UNIVERSITY is #130k for one year!
So tuition fees of one person in USA will educate over 1000 students in OPEN UNIVERSITY in Nigeria.

Therefore, the management need to partner with the Federal University (Open University) to enable it achieve the desirable goals in educating more of the children.

The OPM leadership is not compelling international students to comply but making it obviously clear that alternative measures to cushion effect of dollar rise is the reason for this strategic partnership.

However, this new rules is not applicable to students studying in Africa. namely Benin republic, Ghana , Mauritius and Nigeria. The affected International students are USA, CANADA, UK, POLAND, TURKEY, DUBAI, GERMANY, CYPRUS among others dollar driven economy. International students can opts for self sponsorship , schooling/working schemes if so desire. But definitely not under the current arrangements scholarship scheme which is now suspended till further notice.

The OPM leadership hereby appeal to the International students for understanding, the partnership becomes expedient due to the compelling circumstances of the Nigeria economy that affected foreign exchange. The statement read.
